but I was wondering if it is allowed to sell Trial keys for Gold in the game ?

Guideline:

If the behavior is questionable enough that you have to ask, it is probably not allowed.

As far as I am aware, selling any "Real world" item, "In game" is against the rules and will warrant you being either temporarily or permanently banned.

Mixed with the fact that you're almost 100% likely to be scammed, 'tis an all around bad idea.

There is a whole thread here with people asking politely for Trial/Buddy keys. If you are feeling generous you might consider making someone a gift of it.

Ive always wondered why people bought (or scammed) trial keys if they were free...

And why do all the people buying accounts/keys always use the same WTB template, (same order of things buying, all seperated by a |) and always use the same prices. I always assumed it was mods or something in disguise

No, ammad, it's gold selling companies, who give their employees the same template to use for the in-game want-to-buy posts. They buy the accounts so they can farm gold to sell for real world money.

Posts in-game offering to sell access keys are scammers who will take your in-game gold and give you nothing in return.

But ArenaNet will permanently block the account of anyone caught offering to buy or sell access keys. There are no exceptions.

I assume these keys are limited, as in there's a trial key with each purchased account, and no other apparent way currently to get access to them...

You *COULD* try selling them for gold, but I'd almost *GUARANTEE* you will not get anything for them.

If you are lucky enough to actually get gold, I'd suspect that nothing could or would be done. But you won't ever get anything, and I'd wager that to be the case - you will get scammed, and give them the key, and never hear from them again.

So just save them for a friend...

I heard from someone that the guys in Spamadan buying keys (trial etc.) are actually working for ANet! Not sure about the truth of that but I wouldn't be surprised, thinking about it, probably not, surely Anet staff would know how to use the bloody trade channel and not ALL
